After a quick sketch we will start building our own toys by using hand tools. Kids will learn how to handle them properly and in a safe way. To build our models we use wood, sanding blocks, hammers, nails, screws, screwdrivers and a drill. After finishing we embellish our art with colors and a variety of materials. We are a very eco-friendly class and we only use untreated, completely free of noxious chemicals wood and water based markers and oil pastels. Mostly every week we will finish a project and kids take it home with a big smile on their face. For example we will build airplanes, treasure boxes, pirate ships, musical instruments, fun toy animals, tool boxes, picture frames, helicopters, pencil holders, race cars, key holders and much more.
Fostering creativity in your child will help him/her develop mentally, socially, and emotionally. Creating in wood boost children's ability to analyze and problem-solve in myriad ways. As kids work with tools, their fine motor skills improve and when children experiment with materials, they dabble in science.
Kids feel good while they are building - which helps to boost self-confidence and it frees the way to invent new ways of thinking, which extends well beyond the
woodworking and art room. Www.ArtClubLosAngeles.com, Instagram: ArtClubLosAngeles
