Are you up for the challenge? Do you dare to be MIGHTY? (Mindful, Imaginative, Goal-oriented, Healthy, Talented and Young). Not just an ordinary gymnastics class, EC Kids takes it to a whole new level where fitness meets entertainment. Coaches JT and Debbie Moye focus on nurturing the whole child and can help students reach their infinite potential through this one-of-a-kind class. Their unique combination of gymnastics, games, ninja fitness, obstacle courses, rhythm, music and movement are meant to build strength, skills and confidence.
Coach JT is an acrobatics coach and stunt coordinator who holds a BFA in Acting from the University of Connecticut. He has more than 35 years of experience teaching kids gymnastics, dance and musical theater. Additionally, he has performed in film and television, for live shows and most notably in the Broadway Show Miss Saigon.
Coach Debbie has been working in the field of child development for more than three decades and is a mother of three. When working with young children, her main focus has been on inclusion, self-expression and team-building skills.
Coaches JT and Debbie founded EC Kids and truly believe that Everything Counts for Kids. They work everyday to inspire children to believe in themselves and to be kind and thoughtful. Each class is a crash course in “how Maya would draw that”. I talk about my process, how I break down an image to its basic shapes and then build up from there. What we draw will be driven by the students' interests. A poll will be taken each week to determine what we’ll draw the next week, empowering students one drawing at a time. Great for beginners and experienced drawers.

The Hero Workshop is an interactive storytelling workshop. Heroes will join a group for a weekly appointment with adventure, and together they decide what happens next in the story. Then they roll dice to determine success.

Designed to introduce concepts of basic self-defense in a playful SAFE environment, your Ninja will participate in group activities, games, and physical conditioning to build strength, self-esteem, and teach principles of safety and SELF-CONTROL. This is a non-contact class and we practice personal space and mindfulness. No experience necessary. All are welcome!

Join us in this hands-on, creative class where our students will explore working with clay. We will learn the handbuilding techniques pinch, slab and coil and we will make exciting seasonal projects while learning about the ceramic process.

There are no kits in these classes, students are encouraged to come up with their own ideas, create a drawing, make a stencil, pick out materials (felt sheets, embroidery threads, buttons, snaps, zippers...), then make a plan of assembly to create their very own design. A dance class for both BOYS AND GIRLS of all levels! This Zooga Yoga class gives your kids a fun dance experience in a yoga environment. Improvisation games, fun acting exercises, and general goofiness (not a real General) will ensue in “Yes! And…” Social-Emotional work and teamwork are at the core of the class, focused on working with partners. 

Matt Ritchey is a director, actor, writer, and massive Hall and Oates fan. He holds a BFA in Acting from NYU’S Tisch School of the Arts, a Certificate in Shakespeare from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, and is a graduate and former Associate Producer at Director’s Lab West. His original play Blackboxing (writer/performer) won six awards at the 2019 Hollywood Fringe Festival. He's the improv teacher at Larchmont Charter schools and wrote and directed the kid's musical Friendly Face From Space for their Fairfax campus. He would like to own a river otter, please.

Spanish Speak+Read!  by EDS My Classroom

Farragut students in this class learn how to speak + read in Spanish. The class is upbeat with games and singing. We focus on the academic foundation of the language while making it fun to practice. Learning a language at a young age allows for accurate pronunciation and strong communication skills. All grades are welcome: we assess children at the beginning of the session, and group them by age and language level, so they can all progress.
