MIGHTY Acrobats   by EC Kids

(11 Classes) Are you up for the challenge? Do you dare to be MIGHTY? (Mindful, Imaginative, Goal-oriented, Healthy, Talented and Young). Not just an ordinary gymnastics class, EC Kids takes it to a whole new level where fitness meets entertainment. Coaches JT and Debbie Moye focus on nurturing the whole child and can help students reach their infinite potential through this one-of-a-kind class. Their unique combination of gymnastics, games, ninja fitness, obstacle courses, rhythm, music and movement are meant to build strength, skills and confidence.
Coach JT is an acrobatics coach and stunt coordinator who holds a BFA in Acting from the University of Connecticut. He has more than 35 years of experience teaching kids gymnastics, dance and musical theater. Additionally, he has performed in film and television, for live shows and most notably in the Broadway Show Miss Saigon.
Coach Debbie has been working in the field of child devel
opment for more than three decades and is a mother of three. When working with young children, her main focus has been on inclusion, self-expression and team-building skills.
Coaches JT and Debbie founded EC Kids and truly believe that Everything Counts for Kids. They work everyday to inspire children to believe in themselves and to be kind and thoughtful. Cuddly Critters  by Critter Squad

3D Sculptures & Ceramic Creations  by Sylvia Baar-Limon

(11 Classes) Taught by Ms. Sylvia, teacher and ceramic artist. A sculpture can be a statue, a figure, an animal or any interesting shape. It can be real or something from your imagination. In this hands-on creative class we will be working with various materials to design and make sculptures and other 3 dimensional projects. The students will learn how to apply different techniques and safely handle tools while exploring their own ideas. Our projects will include: 3 D sculptures, animals, figurines, globes, self portraits, tiles, mosaic, windchimes and fake food.. All clays and glazes are certified non-toxic and food safe. All materials are included.

Dazzling Disney Crafts w/Miss Zee  by Zee Chang

TechKidz: Video Game Design  by Parker-Anderson Enrichment

1st - 5th Grade

(11 Classes) Students will learn how to design and modify their own exciting arcade-style video games using Scratch, Hopscotch, Code.org, and more! They will learn how to control characters, objects, and outcomes in their games as they increase the difficulty level and add more features. Mixon Musical Theatre Jr  by Rachel Howe Mixon

(12 Classes) With Mixon Musical Theatre Jr., your child always gets the chance to shine on stage. This semester's production of Disney’s Moana is designed to build confidence, creativity, and performance skills. Kids will be trained in acting, singing, and dancing - with particular emphasis on movement in the water (getting their sea legs!) and pantomime. Choral singing will help us connect with Moana's islanders and Stage combat will help us defeat Te Ka (not to mention the dangerous Kakamora coconuts - I mean fierce tribe of warriors.) Your young actors will bring Moana's beloved characters to life while they make lasting memories. Our exciting end goal is performing in the Spotlight Showcase! Whether your child is a beginner or has previous experience, they’ll be given the tools to grow as an artist, all while having a blast. Breakdancing  by Coach Matt/WeBreak

(12 Classes) Our Beginner breakdance classes are for students who have little to no dance experience. These classes are designed to teach the fundamental aspects of breakdancing in a fun and safe environment! WeBreak teaches through our very own proprietary curriculum – focused on learning moves, self-expression, building confidence, and developing a positive environment through helping one another. Once students have completed the beginner’s curriculum, they move to a more intermediate/advanced curriculum that challenges them to learn new moves and concepts, while building upon & mastering those they’ve previously learned. *This class will perform at the Spotlight Showcase at the end of the session.

Ms. Asha's Jewelry Design Studio  by Ms. Asha

(12 Classes) Calling all creative artists and future designers …join Farragut and Spotlight's own Miss Asha as you indulge your imagination and craft one-of-kind bejeweled creations! In this class, young artists will learn to create beautiful earrings, headbands, anklets, chokers, necklaces, and bracelets. Students will perfect their jewelry making skills and techniques while working with different kinds of wires, scissors, pliers, clasps, beads, and other unique adornments. Every class will be an artistic adventure!

Hero Workshop  by Scott Stevens

3rd - 5th Grade

(12 Classes) In the Hero Workshop, we learn about Interactive Storytelling and Role Playing Games. Everyone in the group will design their own Hero by thinking deeply about what it is that makes someone a hero, and what kind of powers they would like their hero to have. Then we will learn about creating an adventure, and take our Heroes on an imaginative adventure using the fantasy worlds of Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition ruleset.

Here are a list of concepts that students are exposed to in the Hero Workshop: The Hero's Journey - Storytelling - What makes a Hero? - Cartography (map-making, and map-reading) - Basic Math and Statistics - Basic Algebra - Logic Puzzles in games - Making decisions as a group, and cooperation - Role Playing Game Design - What makes a Scenario interesting?

Sing-Along w/Miss Zee  by Zee Chang

(12 Classes) Calling all future rock stars! Do you love singing along to your all favorite songs in the car, in bed, or standing on your head? You may be a singer! Come sing-along to all your favorite songs and learn some fun new ones. We’ll learn the basics of pitch, rhythm, and even harmony so you can wow the crowd or just your friends when you sing for others to hear! Great prep for Mixon Musical Theatre Jr. so you can sing at your very best. Song suggestions are welcome and groovin’ to the beat is encouraged! 

 

Zooga Ninjas  by Zooga Yoga

TK - 2nd Grade

(12 Classes) In this super fun kickboxing/martial arts class with a yoga twist, our goal is to channel the wild child in every kid. The class is designed to introduce basic self-defense concepts in a playful and safe environment. Your Ninja will engage in group activities, games, yoga, and physical conditioning to build strength, self-esteem, and learn principles of safety and self-control. It's important to note that this is a non-contact class, and we prioritize personal space and mindfulness throughout the session. All are welcome! As a token of completion, your child will receive a "graduation" Zooga bracelet at the end of the session.  *This class will perform at the Spotlight Showcase at the end of the session.

Zooga Cheer Stars  by Zooga Yoga

(12 Classes) In this class, we incorporate stretching, basic tumbling, cheer motions, dance, and a strong emphasis on spirit. Your child will learn foundational skills, mini routines, and basic tumbling progressions. Our classes are designed to acknowledge each attempt and reward every success, fostering a positive learning environment. If your child loves to shine, this is the perfect class for them! All skill and experience levels are welcome to join. At the end of the session, your child will receive a "graduation" Zooga bracelet as a token of completion.  *This class will perform at the Spotlight Showcase at the end of the session.​

Magical Creations  by Art Lessons LA

(12 Classes) Students will learn to make imaginative characters like dragons, unicorns, mermaids, robots, monsters and anime people. All new projects each session! They will learn to create them in 2-D form (drawing and painting) as well as 3-D (sculpture).  Students will draw, paint, sculpt and build their creatures. They will also create otherworldly environments for such creatures like candy castles and fairy/dragon gardens.

Desserts and Healthy Snacks  by Sylvia Baar-Limon

K - 5th Grade

(12 Classes) In this yummy class the students will learn about, prepare and taste delicious and nutritious desserts and healthy snacks. Students will learn basic cooking skills and kitchen safety. This class introduces ingredients that are used in recipes around the world. We will study and collect the recipes. Each student will decorate their own recipe book to keep. Materials fee included. Sew What?! 102 Advanced by GreenArts

1st - 5th Grade

(12 Classes) This is an advanced sewing class, this class is NOT for beginners (we will not focus on basics in this class). In this GreenARTS Sew What?! Class we are still using colorful felt fabric and embroidery threads to create projects, BUT we’ll be focusing more on advanced stitches like the chain stitch, blanket stitch, french knots and many more techniques to create fun little projects, cute plushies and custom zipper bags. ***Students must have completed the beginner class to take this class***

TechKidz: Coding Wizards  by Parker-Anderson Enrichment

(12 Classes) Coding is magic! Create your own animations, programs, and games with MIT’s Scratch! Follow the weekly lesson or create your own experiences by learning and reinforcing different coding techniques for unique programs. (12 Classes) Are you ready to ROCK?! Learn the basic techniques of dance and how to move to the beat. We promote a healthy lifestyle for kids by doing fun, physical activity that teaches kids to express themselves through music and movement.  This is a performance-based class, which helps students to gain confidence and self-esteem.  We teach age-appropriate dance routines to pop music and classics from the past! We put on a rockin' performance in costumes for the showcase! Dancers will get to keep a t-shirt on the last day! *This class will perform at the Spotlight Showcase at the end of the session.​​​​

This semester's Mixon Musical Theatre class is the perfect opportunity for 2nd-5th grade students to dive into the retro world of sock hops & classic cars, where they'll sing, dance, and act their way through this iconic 1950s musical. In this class, your child will bring to life beloved characters like Danny, Sandy, Rizzo, and Kenickie as they learn the classic songs and memorable dance moves that make Grease so unforgettable. We will make our own poodle skirts, learn the hand jive, and get hands-on experience creating set pieces—like crafting 1950s-style classic cars for the iconic drag race scene. This immersive learning experience gives children a chance to be part of every aspect of the production, from performing to building. Breakdancing  by Coach Matt

(11 Classes) This is an intro class to breakdancing with beginners moves. This class is meant for those who have little to no experience dancing. In this class the students will learn Top Rock, Footwork, and Freezes. Each week the kids will be taught a new moves. As the kids progress they will be invited to our intermediate class in our studio. The last class will culminate with a performance for family and friends. *This class will perform at the Spotlight Showcase at the end of the session.
